From the blue of a midwinter’s night’s dream in an enchanted garden to the animalier inspiration of an afternoon at the zoo; from the leaves of an autumnal greenhouse to the carefree hours spent in the park after school, through to the party atmosphere of a special celebration in a gazebo: a child's journey as imagined by I Pinco Pallino for autumn/winter 2015 covers the paths and the moods in Central Park.
While New York, with its urban contracts, provides the inspiration and starting point for research that measures tradition and modernity in a mix & match of tailoring content and contemporary aesthetics, its most famous park is meanwhile the ideal set for staging days spent by I Pinco Pallino children next autumn-winter. In a daily-chic key, metropolitan princesses and laidback little college kids in a mixture of couture, design and “Mini Me” looks that nod the wink to mum and dad’s wardrobe.
The collection also sees collaboration by Zhang Ziyi, star of Memoirs of a Geisha and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, in launch of a special capsule collection project that each season will be created in participation with guest designers from different fields, like cinema. Zhang Ziyi will be on the brand’s stand Thursday 22 January at 4.00 pm to present the collection to the press and buyers.
